What began as a neighborhood flower shop in 1980 has grown into a full-service floral business offering fresh flowers, plants, gifts, weddings, events, corporate services and delivery throughout the Portland metropolitan area.
More Than 45 Years of Flowers, Growth & Community
Nancy's Floral opened in Gresham in 1980, at a time when the community was served by several independent flower shops. From the beginning, our goal was to be different — offering distinctive fresh flowers, plants and gifts along with the personal service customers expect from a true local florist.
For our first 30 years, Nancy's Floral called the Oregon Trail Center on Burnside Road home. As our business and customer base grew, so did the shop. In 1997, we doubled the size of our original location to provide more room for our expanding selection of fresh flowers, plants, gifts and floral design services.
Eventually, even the expanded shop could no longer accommodate our growth. In 2010, after three decades at the Oregon Trail Center, we moved just 14 blocks west on Burnside Road to our present location. The larger facility gave us significantly more space for floral design, fresh flower inventory, plants and gifts, wedding and event work, delivery operations and the growing number of customers we serve throughout the Portland metropolitan area.
Our physical locations weren't the only things changing. Nancy's Floral embraced technology early, launching our website in the late 1990s when ordering flowers online was still a new concept. We have continued adapting to changes in technology and the floral industry while maintaining the personal service and local connection on which the business was built.
Following our move in 2010, Nancy's Floral became the only 1-800-Flowers franchise location in Oregon. Within our first several years in the franchise system, we were honored as Franchisee of the Year, competing among nearly 200 participating flower shops nationwide. The experience helped us expand our products, systems and capabilities while reaching an even larger customer base.
In 2020, we made the decision to leave the franchise system and once again put our complete focus on the Nancy's Floral name and the independent local business our customers had known for 40 years.
Today, more than 45 years after we first opened our doors, Nancy's Floral continues to evolve. We create and deliver fresh flower arrangements, plants, sympathy tributes, wedding and event flowers, corporate designs and gifts throughout Gresham and the greater Portland metro area — while remaining rooted in the same community where our story began in 1980.
Our story begins at the Oregon Trail Center on Burnside Road in Gresham.
Continued growth leads us to double the size of our original flower shop.
After 30 years, we move 14 blocks west on Burnside Road to our present location.
We return our complete focus to the Nancy's Floral name and our local community.

Fresh Flowers From Near & Far
Great floral design begins with great flowers. Nancy's Floral works with a diverse network of growers, wholesalers and suppliers so our designers can select from a broad range of fresh flowers throughout the year.
Our flowers may come from local and regional wholesalers, the Portland Flower Market, direct shipments from growers in Ecuador and Colombia, and independent local flower farms. During the Northwest growing season, local growers provide many customer favorites such as peonies, sunflowers, dahlias, cosmos and other beautiful seasonal flowers.
Using multiple sources gives our designers greater flexibility to choose flowers based on freshness, availability, season and value rather than depending on a single supplier.
That variety is especially valuable in our Designer's Choice arrangements, where our floral team can use the freshest flowers available in a customer's selected color palette instead of being limited to recreating one fixed catalog photograph.
